Supervision and Professional Consultation
I offer supervision or professional consultation to Humanistic and Person-Centred counsellors and psychotherapists. I have a particular interest in supporting therapists in their work with LGBTQIA+ and GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diverse) clients, and have extensive experience working with this client group.
My aim is to create a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and reflective space where we are free to explore and reflect on your work. I resonate with Tony Merry’s (2002) view of supervision as a process of ‘collaborative enquiry,’ where we work together to understand what is unfolding within both the therapy relationship and the therapist. This approach shifts the focus away from doing things “right or wrong” and more towards exploring “how the counsellor is being, and how that way of being is contributing to the growth of the counselling relationship.” It’s a space to get curious.
I value and actively engage with intersectionality in my work as a psychotherapist, and in turn as a supervisor. Understanding how various aspects of identity - such as gender, sexuality, class, disability, race, and culture - shape our experiences and interactions is of great importance to me. I aim to create a space that honours all parts of who we and our clients are, fostering a more inclusive, supportive, and deeply enriching relationship built on trust, respect, and mutuality.
